The Most and Least Popular Chrysler Vehicles of the Past
Chrysler, now part of Stellantis North America, has been one of the most enduring brand names in automobiles. Established in 1925 by Walter Chrysler from the remnants of the Maxwell Motor Company, Chrysler quickly became synonymous with value and sophistication. It is still regarded as one of the "Big Three" of the United States automobile industry, alongside Ford and General Motors. Through the years, Chrysler has gone through a myriad of changes and leadership, but one thing has always remained at the forefront of Chrysler design: quality.
The brand looks a lot different today than it did even five years ago. Chrysler has trimmed its lineup down to its core minivans, said goodbye to a longtime nameplate, and is now in the early stages of a planned comeback. Let's take a look at where things stand right now, what Chrysler recently retired, and what's on the way.
Most Popular Chrysler Models Today
Chrysler's current lineup is smaller than it's ever been, but the models that remain are doing the heavy lifting for the brand.
Chrysler Pacifica
The Pacifica is Chrysler's flagship, and for good reason. It offers the class-exclusive Stow 'n Go seating and storage system, seating for up to eight passengers, and a 3.6L Pentastar V6 that delivers a smooth, family-friendly ride. It remains one of the most feature-packed minivans on the market, and a refreshed version with new front-end styling and updated safety features is rolling out for the 2027 model year.
Chrysler Voyager
The Voyager gives shoppers a more affordable way into the Chrysler minivan lineup. It shares the same V6 powertrain and Stow 'n Go seating as the Pacifica, just with a simpler trim structure aimed at value-focused and fleet buyers. Between the two, Chrysler's minivans still hold their own in a segment where most other brands have walked away entirely.
What Chrysler Has Recently Retired
Chrysler 300
After nearly two decades on the market in its modern form, the Chrysler 300 sedan rolled off the line for the last time in late 2023. It was one of the brand's most recognizable nameplates, known for its bold styling and available Hemi V8 power, and its exit left Chrysler without a traditional sedan in its lineup for the first time in generations.
Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid
Chrysler's plug-in hybrid minivan, long the only PHEV minivan on the market, is being phased out as Stellantis shifts its electrification strategy away from plug-in hybrids and toward extended-range electric vehicles. The current gas-powered Pacifica and Voyager continue on, but shoppers looking for a plug-in Pacifica won't find one in the 2026 lineup.
The Road Ahead for Chrysler
Even with a shorter lineup today, Chrysler has a genuine comeback in motion. The brand has confirmed plans for an updated Pacifica, two new crossovers, and a return to the sedan segment, along with a compact model aimed at buyers priced out of today's new-car market. Stellantis has also walked back its earlier electric-only strategy for Chrysler, opting instead for flexible platforms that can support gas, hybrid, and electric powertrains depending on what buyers actually want. There's even talk of reviving the SRT performance badge down the road. After a quiet few years, Chrysler is signaling that it's not done growing its lineup.
Chrysler's Commitment to Quality
Chrysler has demonstrated a commitment to quality and excellence for a century, and it shows in the vehicles it builds today. Not every model has stuck around, and not every strategy has gone as planned, but the brand continues to adjust based on what today's buyers actually want, whether that's a feature-loaded minivan now or a lineup of crossovers and sedans in the years ahead. This commitment to quality also carries over to Mopar/FlexCare Vehicle Protection Plans, products of FCA US LLC, sold by ChryslerFactoryPlans.com to cover your Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Fiat, and Ram vehicles.
